VARNISHING-DAY
Works of the artist Natali Shtainfeld-Borovkov
Natalia Shtainfeld-Borovkov was born in the city of Leningrad (S-Peterburg) in 1966.
There she lived, studied and became a painter.
Her father was an architect and a painter. A lot of constructions were build under his guidance.
He was also a remarkable water-colorist. Natali decided to become a painter like she. She entered the art school under the name of Joganson attached to Academy
of Art. This Leningrad’s art-school was the best art-school in the Soviet Union. There she
received an excellent base for future artistic development.
Her native city, Leningrad, has influenced her development as an artist. In one interview
she says that: “… Leningrad is a state of my soul and I am always return to it. Leningrad is sensation, which I try to keep and express it here, in Israel.”
The turns and twists of Natalia’s life and artistic fate lead her to Israel, she repatriated has
in 1991. Here she lives and paints. From here she goes to the old good Europe. After her
visits Natalia comes back full of impressions. Everything what she sees and experiences
imprints in her paintings. In everything she does we can sense the artists tempo, her personal active attitude.
Her painting are so full of charm and spirits that all of a sudden you wish to see
night-lights of Amsterdam or to make a board-trip along the canals of S-Peterburg ore Venise.
The creative world of Natali is extremely rich and wide. Her art could not be described properly in such a short article.
Some of her works direct us to still unlimited possibilities
of pictorial realism. Some compositions are indebted to post-impressionism or decorativism.
Still-lifes make a large and very impotant part of Natalias work's. Many of them show apples on the white fabrics.
They are related each other but they are different at the same time.
But all of them are extremely alive and vivid, full of life and dynamics.
The feelings that could not be expressed in realistic manner get out in reach colouristic stream in the works painted in other styles.
Natali paints an excellent water-colours as well. The most interesting are the series "
Fogs ".
In all her works Natali is always a sincere and penetrative artist.
Natalia Shtainfeld-Borovkov is a member of Israel Painters and Sculptors association. She has taken part in many personal and group exhibitions in Israel and abroad.
Her works are in many personal collections in Israel, USA, Russia, Ukraine, Germany and Australia.
