Haifa celebrates the 60th anniversary of Israel’s creation .

  The festive salute thundered inside four regions of Haifa in the evening on Wednesday, on the 7th May, in honor of 60 years of independence of the Jewish State. Later, on 22 and a half the light and sound laser show with special effects “Light up heavens” took place. The thousands of inhabitants and guests of Haifa saw the extraordinary spectacle on the background of famous Bahai gardens.
      The grandiose music parade organized by the Israel defense army with participation of 11 music collectives such as Israelite military orchestra, 9 foreign orchestras from the USA, Britain, Germany, Holland, Brasilia, Rumania, Poland, France and Russia became culmination of the festival on the 8th Mai. The gala concert took place at the Haifa stadium on completion of the parade. Before beginning the concert spectators saw the paratroopers’ show: 11 best paratroopers of Israel, each with the flag of the participating orchestra landed on the stadium field. All military orchestras have demonstrated high craftsmanship of original re-form and mastery execution of music compositions.
       The spectators met every performance with delight. In conclusion of the concert the military orchestras fulfilled the parade in the form of Magendavid and played the anthem of the State Israel “Hatikva”.

Haifa. The exhibition “Adar’s painters”.

   The exhibition “Adar’s painters” is being held at foyer of Haifa’s theatre since 11.02.07 till 1.03.07. The great number of cultural matters is situated in this picturesque region and historic center of Haifa with international population. These are Haifa’s theatre, museum, painters house by name of Shagal… Adar is the place of residence and creative work of talented masters of Israelite culture.
     The exhibition “Adar’s painters’ was organized by Haifa municipality within frames of actions on development of Adar. 18 painters took part in it. Opening of the exhibition was really festive. Mayor of Haifa Yona Yavon thanked painters for their contribution to cultural life and wished them great creative success.
      Spectators opened newly for them corners of Adar and other places of Haifa represented on the exhibition. The quartet of classic music from the cultural center “Adar” has supported the wonderful atmosphere of the holiday. In the future the exhibition “Adar’s painters is planned to show in Zefat and also in Germany.

The Haifa festival “Holiday of holidays”.

    Every year the festival “Holiday of holidays” is held in the picturesque Haifa region “Vady Nisans”. It is dedicated to holidays falling on December: Judaic Hanukka, Moslem Eid-al-Adha and Christian Christmas.
The festival was opened on 16th December. The Minister of tourism Izhak Herzog, Mayor of Haifa Iona Yaav, big delegation from Belgium and ambassadors representing various countries participated in the festival opening. The ancient picturesque streets were filled with multilingual public – over 8000 people were here on the opening day only. A great number of arrangements, such as performances of various ensembles, matinees for children, antiques’ fair, carnival processions are held within frames of the festival…
      Absolutely unusual arrangement took place at Saturday on 16th December. The children and their parents covered with drawings the wall of sports ground adjacent to the Saint Lucas’ church. They accepted help from the painters Tatyana Belokonenko and Andrew Chernakov who prepared counters in the form of three words in Jewish, Arab and English: “I live in Haifa”. The children added houses, trees, dogs, the mountain Carmel to these usual words. Next Saturday children and adults reduced collective works and also painted huge ceramic jugs receiving enormous delight from creative work.

“The Gold Nine”.

    The two-month marathon defined winners of the most prestigious prize for the Israel Russian-speaking community –“The person of year – 2006” has finished on November 16th, 2006. The prize has the name “The gold nine” and is presented in nine nominations.
The ceremony of rewarding winners took place in the premises of the theatre “Gesher” and was translated by the 9th channel of Israel television. More than eight hundred guests were present at this holiday – public men, journalists, actors, musicians. For the first time the ceremony was translated together with translation to Hebrew, and it was already second time that Russian-speaking America and Australia saw “The Gold Nine” and then friends and relatives of our heroes and our former compatriots.
      The prize in nomination “Investment at Israel fine Arts” has been rewarded by Tatyana Belokonenko – active author of our site.

 The Haifa international festival of caricature.

    ÑThe 12-th international festival of caricature took place in the premises of Haifa “Auditorium” from five till fifteen October. Caricaturists from 53 countries participated in the festival. They presented works on different themes: family violence, struggle with narcotism, education of tolerance in community.
The contest took place within the framework of the festival.       The first place was won by the work of the representative of Costa Rica, the second – by Russian, and the third – by Israelite caricaturist, resident of Haifa Gennady Litinsky.
      The caricatures of the painter from Haifa Tatyana Belokonenko were represented on the separate stand (for the first time while carrying out festivals). These works, on the themes of “the second Lebanon war”, may be looked in the material “Israelite painters-caricaturists meet the challenge of international terrorists”.

                                                 Israelite painters-caricaturists meet the challenge of international terrorists.

    Now the war appears to be over… “The peace” came and missiles do not blown up now, and silence is set in. But I don’t feel coming back to painting. For sure that is why that I feel generating tension around our country terrifically as well as in the world as a whole. May be something like has been in last thirties of the last century when “the Evil” was on the way of countries, and it was simply underestimated, and its scale was not seen in time.
      During last month (the month of war) I drew only caricatures. And you understand that this one is exactly that you should do to express your attitude to the events! Of course you can’t change situation but you can influence opinions people on the other side of Israel...

           Haifa. Painter’s house by name of Shagal. (04-8522355)

        The art exhibition of works made by members of Israeli Painters’ and sculptors’ Union has been held at Haifa’s Shagal’s Painter’s Palace since 18th March till 4th April which was dedicated to “The International Women’s Day” – “Woman View”. Works of 48 painters, who represent all regions of the country, have been exhibited at the show.
        The show was opened by the Union’s North branch’s chairman Zvika Israel, and these works brought true enjoyment for connoisseurs of art.

      Haifa. "Beit - Ole".

      The exhibition of children’s drawings made by pupils of the paint shop at the school "Leo-Bek" has been opened at the premises "Beit Ole" (20 Perez, Haifa). Altogether forty works of eleven young painters at the age from 7 up to 10 years old are represented at the exhibition. The manager of the study group is a painter-teacher Tatyana Belokonenko.
      This is not a first participation at exhibitions for many young participants, but for others everything for the first time. The works of young masters stagger by ungovernable fantasy and really skillful execution. Here you may see a fantastic monster with six feet and northern lights as well as remarkable still lives.

          Haifa. Painter’s house by name of Shagal. (04-8522355)

        The group exhibition “The portrait” of the Israel Painters Union members was held at Haifa painter’s house by name Shagal from September 24 till October 5. The works of 52 painters representing all regions of the country were shown on the exhibition. It was opened by the chairman of the north division of the Painters and Sculptors Union Tsvika Israel.
        The lecture for Russian speaking admirers of arts will took place on October 1 at 10.00. The lecture was held by Tatiana Belokonenko, a member of the Israel Painter’s Union.

      Haifa. "Beit - Gecht".

      The first Haifa’s doll festival took place at “Beit – Gecht” from 25 till 27 August. The festival was organized on initiative of Haifa’s Absorption Department maintained by the Municipality and the town’s company “Etos” and the Gecht fund.
      This coloured festival gave great pleasure for thousands of children and adults. Passing from one hall to another they found themselves in the doll theatre or the fairy tale. The works of masters from many towns of Israel, both the repatriates from SNG countries and the natives were represented at the festival.
       In addition to the doll exhibition the creative studies with children, the doll performances, concerts and lectures were organized at the festival.

        Museum Erez Israel. Tel-Aviv. (03-6415244)

       “Design, fine art”. The third bienalle of Israeli ceramics. Together with subjects of everyday life this exposition includes things which are rather works of art. Some adjacent forms of art have influenced upon the creation of many of them. 93 authors represent here their works, in this connection these are not only specialist in ceramics but also architects and designers. Among the participants are following: Udi Even, Shlomit Bauman, Ami Dereh, Dov Grensho, Noa Zabar, Raya Shtern.

         “I am not a doll for you”. Adi Weizman-Aaroni, Ellis Klingman, Shay Aloni, Meyrav Shin Ben-Alon represent their works.


                 Art museum in Gerzlia. (09-9551011)

       “Belfast path”. Young painters of the North Ireland. Miriam De-Borka, Mery Makintair, Sheimus Kharkhan, Syusen Makwiliam represent their works. Despite attempts to move away from politics it is interesting to reveal relation of the painters towards invasion of politics into everyday life and the art.

       “Changes in space”. The works of the following painters are represented: Orit Adar-Bahar, Romi Akhitov, Gideon Gekhman, Liki Khen, Khaimi Panikhel, Reut Ferster, Gal Keinan, Gabriela Shuc.


                 Art museum in Tel-Aviv. (03-6077000)

       “Had Gadya”. Exposition of “Agada” editions. Two series of the museum displays: from the collection of Ella Lisizki, 1919 and of Frenk Stel. Also the ancient editions are represented beginning from the 17th century.
     “Hyriya in muse – 2”. Continuation of the exhibition which was held in 1999 where offers of painters and architects on transformation of “the debris hill” into the park were represented.
